Most window repair companies will not put a number anywhere near their website. You ring, you get “we would need to send someone out”, and you are no further forward than you were before you picked up the phone.
We are not going to pretend we can price a job we have not seen either, because we cannot. What we can do is be straight with you about the one figure we can give you up front, what we never charge for, and what actually moves the price up or down. That should be enough for you to decide whether it is worth getting us round.
The one price we can give you up front
Replacing a failed sealed unit in an existing uPVC frame starts from £75.
That is the starting figure and it is for a small pane, the sort of hopper vent that sits above or below a main window. It is not a price for every window in the house. A big living room pane, toughened glass, obscure glass for a bathroom, a shaped unit or anything with a coating in it will cost more than that, and how much more depends on the window in front of us.

There is no call out fee
You do not pay us to turn up, and you do not pay us to look. There is no call out charge, no assessment fee and no minimum charge for coming out to Wishaw or anywhere else we cover. If we come out and the job is not worth doing, you pay nothing and we will tell you so.
You pay for the work done. That is the whole of it.
Why there is no price list on this page
Because there is not one honest price list to give you.
A window repair is not a product off a shelf. Two jobs that sound identical on the phone can need completely different parts. A handle that has snapped might take a common universal handle we carry in the van, or it might be a discontinued pattern that has to be matched and ordered. A door that will not lock might need a strip of adjustment or it might need a full multipoint mechanism. Glass is made to measure every single time.
Anyone who does hand you a full price list is either quoting for the easiest possible version of the job or leaving themselves room to change the number when they arrive. We would rather have one conversation, look at your window, and give you a figure that stands.
What actually moves the price
- Size. This does most of the work on any glass job. Glass is priced by the area, so a small hopper and a large picture window are a long way apart.
- The type of glass. Clear standard double glazing is the baseline. Toughened glass, obscure or patterned bathroom glass, Low E energy glass, leaded or Georgian bar units, coloured or shaped units all cost more than plain clear.
- Whether it is glass or hardware. A misted unit is a glass job. A window that will not close, a handle that spins, a hinge that has dropped or a door that will not lock is a hardware job, and those are usually cheaper than glass because the part is smaller.
- Which part it turns out to be. Handles, hinges, locks, gaskets, letterboxes, cylinders and multipoint mechanisms are all different parts at different prices, and a lot of them are not visible until the window is open in front of us.
- How many. If we are replacing four units in one visit rather than one, that is one trip instead of four and the price per unit reflects it.
- Access. Anything above ground floor, over a conservatory roof or behind a locked back court takes longer and sometimes needs different kit.
What does not change the price
The day of the week. How far into Lanarkshire you are, within the areas we cover. Whether you sound like you are in a hurry. Whether you have had another quote. We charge for the work, not for the situation.
How to get a real number quickly
The fastest way, by a mile, is a photo.
Send us a picture of the window or door on WhatsApp, tell us roughly how big the pane is and what it is doing, and we can usually come back with a real figure or a very tight bracket the same day. Most misted glass jobs and most handle and hinge jobs can be priced from a photo without anyone coming out at all.

Are we the cheapest?
Sometimes, and honestly, sometimes not.
There is always somebody who will do it cheaper. What we will not do is quote low to get in the door and then find extra work once we are there, fit a thinner unit than the one that came out, or leave a repair that lasts a season. If a repair is not the right answer we will tell you to replace instead, even though that is a job we might not be getting.

Common questions about our prices
Do you charge for a quote?
No. Quotes are free and there is no call out charge. If you decide not to go ahead you owe us nothing.
Is £75 the price for any misted window?
No, it is the starting price for a small pane, roughly hopper size. Larger panes and specialist glass cost more, which is why we price your actual window rather than publishing a list.
Can you price it over the phone?
Often, yes, especially with a photo. If it is a lock or a door mechanism we sometimes need to see it working before we commit to a figure.
Do you charge extra to travel?
No. The price is the same whether you are two streets from the yard or at the far end of the areas we cover.
How soon can you come out?
Usually within a few days, and quicker for anything insecure or letting water in.
